    Blush Lane Organic Market, operated by SPUD.CA, is looking for a permanent, full-time Store Manager for our Bridgeland Store (617 Meredith Road NE).


    Duties & Responsibilities

    What you'll do:


    The Store Manager holds overall responsibility and accountability for the operation of the store. The position ensures that the store achieves its goals as set out by the Blush Lane executive team and owners. The Store Manager is accountable for meeting sales, labour, margin, inventory, and operating expense goals and budgets. The role is also responsible for leading a team of Department Managers and their staff.


    Additionally, Store Managers form part of the Blush Lane corporate leadership team that includes the executive leaders and owners/shareholders. This team sets the the direction and goals for Blush Lane Organic Market in such a way that honours our core values which include: Create AMAZING Experiences, CULTIVATE Sustainability, Be OPEN to a DIFFERENT Perspective, Learn, Grow and Win as ONE Team, be Scrappy and OWN It, Act with Honour, Courage & Love, and Find the FUN Together.


    • Work with the executive leadership team to develop store goals. Develop strategies and prioritize work with Department Managers to meet these goals.
    • Track, analyze, improve store performance. Forecast sales goals and take steps to meet goals and targets set out by Blush Lane Organic Market.
    • Direct a team of Department Managers and Supervisors; this includes responsibility for hiring/terminations, performance management, succession planning and professional development.
    • Provide support and coaching to Department Managers who are dealing with employee performance issues. Assist the Department Manager with performance discussions, discipline proceedings, investigations, and terminations.
    • Take the lead in implementing new policies or procedures. Ensure that employees clearly understand what they will need to do differently and why the change was necessary.
    • Special projects and other duties may be assigned as required

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • A university degree or a post-secondary diploma with a minimum of 10 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • A minimum of 5 years of related management experience, preferably at a store manager level.
    • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Blush Lane software systems would be an asset.
    • Strong working knowledge of the retail grocery industry.
    • A team builder and player with a proven record for successfully developing, mentoring and motivating staff.
    • An active listener and a strong communicator who is confident and articulate, and able to communicate with all types of people at all levels in the organization.
    • Strong problem solving and conflict management skills; able to bring alignment and focus throughout the store at all levels of employees.

    Special Requirements:

    • Overtime is a requirement of the position.
    • Some travel (including overnight) will be required to assist other store locations or to attend training.
